MOSCOW, Oct 14 (PRIME) -- Naspers’s Prosus has signed a deal to sell its shareholding in Russian classifieds business, Avito, to Kismet Capital Group for 151 billion rubles, the South African media group said on Friday in a statement.
“Kismet is a private investment group with a track record of investing in technology and telecommunications businesses in Russia. All relevant regulatory approvals have been received. Closing is expected to occur in October 2022,” Naspers said.
“Since announcing our intention to sell Avito on May 20, 2022, our aim has been to manage the sale of the business in a responsible and orderly way. We believe this transaction best accomplishes that objective.”
Kismet Capital Group is an investment group founded by Ivan Tavrin, a former CEO of mobile operator MegaFon.
